When to Block a Day vs. Block Hours
Before getting started, it helps to know which option you need:
-
Block an entire day when you want selected services unavailable for the full day. This can be set up as recurring (by day of the week, such as every Saturday) or as a one-time block for a specific date (such as Valentine’s Day).
-
Block specific hours when you only need to limit availability during part of the day, while keeping the rest of the day open. Hour blocks can also be recurring (for example, every Monday afternoon) or one-time for a specific date.
Both options are managed from the same Block Off feature.
Accessing Block Off Time
You can set up and manage blocked days and hours from either location below:
Option 1: From Settings → Hours
-
Log in to your SpotHopper account and navigate to the "Hours" page under "Settings" from the left sidebar.
-
Click the red Block Off Time button at the top of the page.

Option 2: From an Inquiry’s Calendar Page
-
Open any inquiry page (Party Inquiries, Catering, Reservations, Online Orders) under "Sales & Inquiries."
-
Navigate to the calendar view.
-
Click the gray "restricted" icon on any date box.

Both options open the same Block Off Time settings, where you can block full days, block specific hours, and control which services remain operational.
How to Block Entire Days
You can block an entire day either recurring (by day of the week) or as a one-time specific date.
Block a Day of the Week (Recurring)
Use this option if you regularly do not accept certain services on a specific day (for example, no parties or reservations on Saturdays).
-
Click on the "Day of week" option and choose the day you wish to block.
-
Do not add blocked hours.
-
Select which services should be unavailable (the toggle should be off) and save.

Block a Specific Date (One-Time)
Use this option for one-off dates, such as not taking reservations on Valentine’s Day.
-
Click on the "Specific Date" option and choose the date you wish to block.
-
Do not add blocked hours.
-
Select which services should be unavailable (the toggle should be off and gray) and save.

How to Block Specific Hours
Blocking specific hours prevents customers from booking during a set time range, while keeping availability open for the rest of the day.
Block Hours on a Day of the Week (Recurring)
Use this option if certain hours are regularly unavailable on a specific day (for example, no reservations every Monday from 4–6 PM).
-
Under the "Day of week" option, select the preferred day and click "Add Blocked Hours."

- Enter the time range you wish to block, for instance from 4 PM to 7 PM.
-
Select the services you wish to block (toggle should be off) and save.

Block Hours on a Specific Date (One-Time)
Use this option for temporary changes, such as blocking hours for a private event.
-
Under the "Specific Date" option, choose the preferred date, then click "Add Blocked Hours" on the right.

-
Enter the time range you wish to block.
-
Select the services you want to block during this time (the toggle should be off) and save.
Editing or Removing Blocked Days or Hours
You can edit or remove existing blocked days and hours at any time.
-
Navigate to the "Hours" page under "Settings."
- The existing blocked days/hours will be shown above the descriptive hours box.
- Find the one you wish to manage, and click the red plus sign.

- This will expand the block-off details. You can edit the block-off and click the Save button to apply the changes. Or you can remove it by clicking the "Delete" button in the lower left corner.

Alternatively, you can access existing blocked hours/days directly from the calendar view of any inquiry page. Just click the red "restricted" button on a blocked date box, and the block-off details will expand.
