How to Add Keywords to Your Website

Keywords make your restaurant visible on Google, drawing in customers who search for things like "best [whatever] near me". Updating them keeps you relevant and competitive. Learn how to define the best keywords and to upload them to your account!



What are Keywords?

Keywords are the words or phrases that an online user is likely to type into a search engine to find a result.

For example, "pizza near me" or "family restaurant in Springfield."

By identifying the  keywords people use to find businesses like yours, we can add those keywords to your website so that you appear prominently in all searches.

This is all part of the Search Engine Optimization (SEO), a process which improves the quality and quantity of website traffic from search engines

How Do I Determine Keywords?
Think like a customer. What do you type when you want to find something on a search engine? Apply that thinking to your business and pick the best ones. If you need any help with this, please reach out to your Dedicated Support Rep. 


 

Setting Up Keywords

1. Once you have chosen your keywords, enter them in your SpotHopper account.

2. Navigate to the "Website" under "Marketing Channels", click on "Website Content".

3. Scroll to the bottom of the page. Here, you will see two sections related to SEO.

4. You can choose the automated process or the "Experts Only" process. "Experts Only" is for setting up page titles and meta descriptions. More about this you can find in this article.

If you don't fee comfortable with the advanced mode, you can simply define keywords and upload them to the account and we will do the rest.

5. Click the orange button "Click here to manage SEO phrases" and fill in all the fields on that page.

6. Once you hit "Confirm", the SpotHopper development team will be notified and we'll start working on setting it up!
