Managing Users

Give the right team members access to your SpotHopper account so they can help manage inquiries, create marketing campaigns, and more. Learn how to add and remove users, and assist with login and password recovery.

Accessing the Users Page

 To access the Users page, click Settings in the left navigation menu, then select Users

On this page, you'll see a list of all users invited to your SpotHopper account. Active users appear at the top of the list, while pending users (who have not yet completed the login setup) are highlighted in yellow and displayed at the bottom. 

From the Users page, you can invite new users, remove users who no longer need access, and send password reset instructions to existing users. 



Inviting New Users

To invite a new user to your SpotHopper account, click Invite People in the upper-right corner of the Users page. 

Enter the user's email address, then click Send

The new user will be added to the list and marked as Pending until they complete the account setup process. 

How Users Log In

Once invited, the user will receive an email containing a temporary password and instructions for accessing their account. 

To activate their account, the user must click the "Sign In" button from the invitation email and log in using their email address and the temporary password provided.

After signing in, they will be prompted to create a new password.

With their new password in place, the user can access and begin using the SpotHopper platform. Once they log in, they'll also be prompted to enter their name and a recovery phone number. 



Removing Existing Users

If a user no longer needs access to your SpotHopper account, you can remove them from the Users page. 

  1.  Locate the user you want to remove and click the Trash icon on the far right. 

  2.  When prompted, click Yes to confirm the removal. 

 Once removed, the user will no longer be able to access your SpotHopper account. 



Sending "Password Reset" Instructions

If a user forgets their password or is unable to sign in, you can send password reset instructions directly from the Users page. 

  1. Locate the user and navigate to the Password Reset Options column. Click the Email icon to send reset instructions by email, or the Phone icon to send them by text message. 

  2.  When prompted, click Yes to confirm. 

Note: Password reset instructions can be sent by text message only if the user has added a recovery phone number to their account. Otherwise, instructions must be sent by email. 

How Users Reset Their Password

If password reset instructions were sent by email, the user should click the "Sign In" button in the password reset email.

If password reset instructions were sent by text message, the user should click the Sign in here link included in the message.

Either option will open the SpotHopper login page, where the user can sign in using their email address and the temporary password provided. 

After signing in, they will be prompted to create a new password. They can then use their new password for all future logins.
