To begin, navigate to the **"Texting"** tab under **"Marketing"** in your SpotHopper admin. ![](https://howto.spothopperapp.com/hs-fs/hubfs/Screenshot%202026-04-23%20161955-png.png?width=197&height=173&name=Screenshot%202026-04-23%20161955-png.png) 2. At the bottom of the page, click the **"Enable Texting Marketing"** button. After selecting your desired package, **enter your EIN (Employer Identification Number)** and your **Legal Business Name.** A valid **EIN and Legal Business Name are required to initiate the verification process** so the texting feature can be successfully activated. ![](https://howto.spothopperapp.com/hs-fs/hubfs/image-png-Jun-18-2026-02-03-58-7651-PM.png?width=670&height=104&name=image-png-Jun-18-2026-02-03-58-7651-PM.png) 5. Next, input the **phone number that will receive replies from customers**. ![](https://howto.spothopperapp.com/hs-fs/hubfs/image-png-Oct-14-2025-07-56-39-5742-AM.png?width=670&height=103&name=image-png-Oct-14-2025-07-56-39-5742-AM.png) *This number is **hidden from your customers.** When a customer replies to a text sent through SpotHopper, their text is forwarded to that phone number. After all the fields are filled out, hit the **"Save"** button on the bottom right. --- #### **Texting Permissions** The **"Texting Permissions"** section allows you to set up where and how customers will be asked to **opt in to get text messages.**  Make sure to enable opt-in options wherever possible, and craft a message that’s fun and reflects your brand. ![](https://howto.spothopperapp.com/hs-fs/hubfs/image-png-Aug-02-2023-06-12-41-1214-PM.png?width=670&height=290&name=image-png-Aug-02-2023-06-12-41-1214-PM.png) Select [**"View QR Code Flyers"**](https://howto.spothopperapp.com/knowledge/how-to-use-spothopper-qr-code-flyers?hsLang=en) at the bottom of the Settings page to see flyers promoting text sign-ups. This short process keeps texting secure and helps prevent spam.
