Not sure how to promote that new Diners Choice Award or your new menu? Or maybe your Birthday/Loyalty Club or a local partnership? Creating a Custom Promotion is the easiest way to get the word out to your customers!

NOTE: Creating a Custom Promotion should be done for happenings that are not listed among the Standard/Common Restaurant Promotions that you can pick on your SpotHopper admin. Selecting from Standard Promotions is much quicker than making a Custom Promotion from scratch.

Custom Promotion examples include a New Menu, Dining Award, a New Location, etc.

 


Why Create a Custom Promotion?

Unless you reach out to customers, they won't know about that important happening in your business - a new tasting menu, dining award, state-renowned wine collection, etc. In fact, you've likely heard customers say, "I wish I knew about this sooner!" Even though you may have put energy into promoting the very happening that they never knew about...

So...How do you let potential customers know about your important happenings?

Promotions.

Yet, capturing the attention of diners isn't always as easy as just updating one place, right? But it takes time and energy. Jumping platform to platform. Updating your website. Making social media posts. Creating texts. That's where SpotHopper's custom promotions come in to help. Create a promotion and knock out everything at once - all from one spot.

Remember, if you aren't creating comprehensive promotions, you can bet that other chains and local restaurants with large budgets are doing it. Consequently, grabbing more of your potential customers. Keep reading in order to start getting more customers via promotions.


Creating a Custom Promotion

  1. To begin, you can create custom promotions directly from your "Calendar" tab or by navigating to the "Campaigns & Promotion" page under the "Marketing" tab on your SpotHopper admin.

  2. Click the green "Create Custom Promotion/Announcement" button on the top right of the page

3.    Here, you will find a blank template (see below) where you can create a promotion about anything you want, and on whatever marketing channel you want!

  • Just add your promotion name...this is how you'll find this promotion in the future...
  • Navigate through each marketing channel header (Website Pop Up/Header, Email, Texting, and Socials) and fill them in appropriately to cover all of your bases...
  • You can always return to this promotion once it's created to edit these channels further...
  • Plus, once you click “save” the promotion details will collapse so you can preview the email, socials, and/or pop up you just created!

Note: For this to take effect, click "Next" at the bottom of the screen until you navigate to the last header of the page (Social) and then click "Save" on the bottom right of the page to apply all changes.
